So yesterday was fun....here I am, sitting in the dentist's chair, all done w/ my teeth cleaning, and here's what he says at the very end of my appointment while he looks at my x-rays...ready? Here we go,
Him: "No cavities...your teeth look healthy, but your wisdom teeth are grown in about half-way. We're going to have to take those out soon. If you get 'em taken out on a thursday or friday you'll be fully recovered to be back in school on a monday."
Me: "Uh...I have rehearsal every day until 6:30...we'll probably have to do them over summer vacation...is that okay?"
Him: "Yeah, that's fine...I mean, we could do them over spring break but that wouldn't give you too much notice."
My Mom: "Well, we should probably get those taken care of as soon as possible. What about next thursday over spring break?"
Him: "If that's okay with Stephanie. Is that okay with you?"
Me (slightly shocked): "Huh? Uhmm...I guess so..."
And that's how it all went down...now the last four days of my break will be spent in misery...not to mention my dad was telling me about how you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get food in the wounds? Oh yeah-my mom was telling me about how when she got them removed she kept sucking on the open wounds (thinking she was cleaning it), but then the doctor told her that that causes dry pockets in your gums and it can ruin the bone mass in ones mouth....
No fun. However UCSD (no gov. money included) is willing to give me over $7,000 if I go there next year.
Gives me something to think about... |

no straws either...:(...and no popsicles!!!..ahh...i hate it when they schedule things like that over break...
aw man.. that just reminded me that i'm getting braces in a acoupe of days...straight teeth for me:D

haha, that's hilarious! so, does this mean at ssp you will have no wisdom or something?

if you clean your mouth with salt water, the wounds heal faster. they also gave me a spiffy water tube squirter thing to get food away from the wounds. don't stress too much though, Steph.
